Quick Payouts: Something very important for bettors is the speed and agility with which they can retrieve the money they won. FanDuel also offers bettors plenty of options to retrieve their winnings.

App Top Features

Several factors make FanDuel’s mobile app stand out from the competition.

Same-Game Parlays

FanDuel has been at the forefront of Same Game Parlays. A same-game parlay consists of wagers placed on different outcomes within one particular game.

Same Game Parlays allow players to pursue large payouts through the elevated odds of a standard parlay without having to include other games.

Using the World Series as an example:

Team/PlayerBet
Philadelphia PhilliesMoneyline
Bryce HarperHome Run
J.T. RealmutoHome Run

Just like regular parlays, Same Game Parlays are only successful if all wagers are won. They also exclude bets that have opposite outcomes.

Odds Boosts

There are frequent bonuses and promotions at FanDuel, especially for the major leagues like the NBA, NFL, and MLB. These boosts can be found in the Promo tab or by tapping on the Boost button in the menu bar.

Odds boosts are constantly changing. Especially if you are betting on some of the most popular sports, we recommend you check your Promo tab before placing your bet. Don’t want to miss out on an odds boost!

Live Streaming

To enhance the experience of bettors, FanDuel has launched FanDuel TV, a network that is optimized for mobile users with exclusive content including in-depth sports analysis and betting recommendations. FanDuel TV features live streaming and is expected to continue adding sports to its broadcasting offerings.

Usability

FanDuel’s top feature is its usability. The app is especially user-friendly, with the lists of sports and betting markets easily accessible and betting odds clearly displayed. This gives FanDuel an edge compared to other platforms that are harder to navigate, specifically for less-experienced bettors.

As an American platform, FanDuel relies on American odds. If American odds are foreign to you, here’s a quick breakdown:

  • When a team is favored to win, or an outcome is more likely to happen, American odds will have a negative number. For example, -120.
  • When a team is not favored to win, or an outcome is considered unlikely to happen, American odds will have a positive number. For example, +110.
  • The Profit Formula for Negative American Odds is = (100/Odds) * Wager
  • The Profit Formula for Positive American Odds is = (Odds/100) * Wager
  • Note that in both of the formulas, the result will be your profit, and in addition to that, if your bet is successful, you will recover the initial amount you wagered.

Placing Bets

FanDuel has plenty of wagering options. Here’s a quick rundown of the types of bets you can make on the platform.

Moneyline

A moneyline wager is picking a team to win the game outright. For example, if the Green Bay Packers are playing against the Cleveland Browns, a moneyline bet on the Packers would require them to win the game by any margin.

Point Spread

The point spread is a margin or handicap given to level the playing field, negating any advantage on one side by awarding the underdog with a predetermined value of additional points.

The favored team needs to “cover the spread” for the wager to be a winner. For example, if the Indianapolis Colts play the Minnesota Vikings and the spread is Vikings -3.5, Minnesota would need to win by at least 4 points for the wager to be considered a winner.

Straight Bet

The straight bet consists of one single wager independent of any other outcomes.

Parlays

A parlay is a bet that groups two or more wagers. For a parlay bet to be successful, every leg must be a winner.

For example, a three-team parlay including the Minnesota Timberwolves, Detroit Pistons, and Utah Jazz. If the Timberwolves and Jazz win, but the Pistons lose, the parlay loses.

Over/Under (Totals)

An over/under bet is based on the combined number of points scored in the game.

Example:

The San Francisco 49ers are facing the Kansas City Chiefs, and the total is at 53.5 points. If you bet on the over, at least 54 points need to be scored for your bet to be a winner. If they combine to score 53 points or less, then those who wagered on the under would be the winners.

Another example, using soccer:

Leicester City is playing Chelsea in the English Premier League. Because both teams play an offensive game, it is expected that the match will have plenty of goal opportunities. Therefore, the odds are as follows:

  • Over 2.5 goals, -170
  • Under 2.5 goals, +130

If you bet on the over, then Leicester City and Chelsea need to combine for at least three goals. Otherwise, those who bet on the under would be the winners.

Alternate Lines and Totals

In the most popular sports like football, soccer, and basketball, players are given the chance to adapt the point spread to adjust their odds of winning. These are called alternate lines.

Let’s use the aforementioned example to explain.

In the match between Leicester City and Chelsea, the “over 2.5 goals” has negative odds, which means that the sportsbook considers it more likely the teams will combine for at least three goals.

Using alternate lines, if we are confident in the scoring capabilities of both teams, we could take the total of 3.5 instead. The odds would look like this:

  • Over 3.5 goals, +140
  • Under 3.5 goals, -185

This tells us that the sportsbook believes that the match most likely will have three goals. If you believe that Leicester City and Chelsea will combine for over three goals, you can wager on over 3.5 goals and get a better return than if you wager on over 2.5 goals.

Alternate lines can also be used to adjust the spread.

For example, if the Los Angeles Clippers play the Washington Wizards and the point spread is Wizards +7.5, a bettor could opt for an alternate line and wager on Washington +9.5.

This, of course, would mean that the odds would be adjusted to reflect this additional advantage given to the Wizards, but it also increases the chances that the bet will be a winner.

Teaser Bets

The alternate lines explained above can also apply to spread bets. And when two or more of these alternate lines are combined, we have what is called a teaser bet.

While the alternate lines could cover several spreads, the teasers have specific rules. In football, the teaser bet typically gives the bettor six points.

Here is an example:

The Kansas City Chiefs are playing against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The regular spread is +1.5 for the Kansas City Chiefs, while the over/under is set at 50.5. Both bets have individual odds of -110.

You can combine these bets into a 6-point teaser, which means if you bet on the Chiefs and the over, it would look like this:

  • Kansas City Chiefs, +7.5 points
  • Over 44.5 points

For your teaser bet to be successful, both outcomes need to happen.

If the Chiefs win outright or lose by 7 points or less and both teams combine for at least 45 points, your bet will be a winner.

Futures Bet

A futures bet is a wager on a distant event or outcome. For example: Which team will win the Super Bowl next year? Which player will be the Wimbledon champion?

Because a futures bet is typically placed before a tournament or season gets started, it tends to have significantly positive odds. The odds for a futures market will get adjusted as the season progresses.

Props

Prop bets focus on individual outcomes in a given game. For example: Which team will score first? Which team will be leading at halftime?

Prop bets can cover a wide range of possibilities and can be extremely detailed, making them a good option for bettors who follow teams and players closely.

Round Robin Bets

A round robin bet consists of a combination of wagers grouped together in a series of parlays.

For example, these are our three bets:

PickSpread
Vancouver Canucks+2.5
Pittsburgh Penguins+1.5
Edmonton Oilers-1.5

Our picks would be combined into three standalone groups:

Group ASpread
Vancouver Canucks+2.5
Pittsburgh Penguins+1.5
Group BSpread
Vancouver Canucks+2.5
Edmonton Oilers-1.5
Group CSpread
Pittsburgh Penguins+1.5
Edmonton Oilers-1.5

The advantage of the round robin bet is that it reduces the risk of a three-team parlay (in the above example), where all three wagers need to be successful. Instead, bettors can hit two of the three wagers and still earn a payout.

DFS App Review

FanDuel originally emerged as a daily fantasy sports (DFS) platform, and its DFS app is top-notch. Through the DFS app, FanDuel subscribers can play DFS games and contests on their smartphones and other devices. The app is available for both Apple (iOS) and Android devices and it can be downloaded from the App Store or the Google Play store.

Here are some reviews from real customers:

“I’ve been using FanDuel for a few years now, and it’s hands down the best daily fantasy sports app out there. The app is easy to use, and I love the variety of sports and contests available. The live scoring and updates are also a nice touch.” - John S.

“FanDuel is my go-to daily fantasy sports app. The app is always reliable, and the promotions and bonuses are also a nice touch.” - Sarah T.

“I’ve had a great experience with FanDuel DFS. The app is user-friendly, and the customer support team is always available to help with any issues or questions I have.” - David M.

If you are new to FanDuel DFS, you are eligible for a welcome bonus. The welcome bonus consists of one free NBA entry to FanDuel’s fantasy basketball contests. Also, if you deposit $10, you are eligible for $10 in site credits. Bonuses can’t be withdrawn as cash.

Sportsbook App Overview

FanDuel’s app has gained wide acclaim from its users because of its intuitive user interface and ease of navigation. The mobile app gives bettors all the needed functionalities like being able to place wagers and track them in real time. Users can easily navigate from one game or market to another, modifying their bet slip as needed.

The pop-up menu at the bottom further streamlines the navigational process by helping users return to the homepage with one tap. Bettors can also go to their account, see their balance, and make transactions via this menu.

The FanDuel app interface is clean and simple, a big benefit for those who are starting out as sports bettors. The design of the app allows users to clearly visualize odds, payouts and winnings.

FanDuel scores high on both the App Store and the Google Play store, an indicator of its user-friendliness and stellar customer service. However, as it happens with any other platform, some users have complaints. Among the negative points are excessive verification, which sometimes leads to missing out on particular odds, and problems with cashouts.

Nevertheless, the platform displays an overall good ranking, with the majority of reviewers giving it 5 stars.

How to Deposit Money into Your Account

In addition to this location, FanDuel also operates a sportsbook at the Diamond Jo Casino in Dubuque, which features a large LED video wall and multiple HD televisions.

FanDuel Sportsbook in Colorado

Following the rebranding of the Golden Gates Casino, which has now been renamed Bally’s Black Hawk, FanDuel no longer operates a retail location in Colorado. However, sports bettors in Colorado can still access the attractive bonuses and promotions FanDuel offers through its online app, which has a strong presence in the Centennial State.

FanDuel Sportsbook in West Virginia

Nestled in The Greenbrier, a luxury mountain resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, FanDuel Sportsbook has become a paramount destination for sports bettors in the state. Some reports mention West Virginia residents lead the nation in sports viewing, and FanDuel has capitalized on the opportunity to provide a top-of-the-line betting experience.

FanDuel Sportsbook in Michigan

Over the years, FanDuel has solidified its presence in the state largely through its partnership with local teams like the Brooklyn Nets.

FanDuel Sportsbook in Virginia

When sports betting launched in Virginia back in January 2021, it did so primarily as an online-only market. This means that FanDuel, like the rest of the sportsbooks in the state, operates only through its online app and web platform. Even though there are plans to bring more retail betting to Virginia, and a retail sportsbook has already opened at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Bristol, for now, FanDuel’s customers can only access the platform online and through the app.

FanDuel Sportsbook in Tennessee

Retail betting is not offered in Tennessee, which means that, like in many other states, FanDuel relies on its online platforms to cater to sports bettors in the state. As of now, there are no casinos in Tennessee, which means it’s highly unlikely that we will see retail betting in the near future. However, residents of Tennessee can take full advantage of all the benefits that FanDuel provides by joining the online platform and placing their wagers through the web or through the mobile app.

Customer Support

FanDuel has an efficient and readily-available customer support team, which has garnered praise for responding quickly to user queries.

The easiest and fastest way to reach FanDuel’s customer support team is through their live chat option, which provides 24/7 assistance.

Email and voicemail have a slower response time, with email having an average response time of 12-24 hours and the current wait time for a callback set at over 48 hours.

For urgent queries, the chat is recommended as the best option to access FanDuel Customer Support.

FanDuel's Partnerships

FanDuel has stayed at the forefront of U.S. wagering activity by forging strategic partnerships with teams across different leagues.

League Partners: NFL, NBA, WNBA, WTA, NHL, MLB, PGA Tour

Team Partners: Washington Football Team, Phoenix Suns (access partner), Chicago Bulls, Detroit Pistons, New Orleans Pelicans, Memphis Grizzlies, Brooklyn Nets, DC United, Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets (only DFS), Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox, and Buffalo Bills.

This list will likely keep expanding, especially as FanDuel keeps adding more sports to its offerings.

Canadian Expansion

The first step for FanDuel’s international expansion is its foray into the province of Ontario. Until August 2021, Canadians were only allowed to bet on parlays, but an amendment legalized single-game betting. This paved the way for sports betting operators to deepen their footprint in the country, and in April 2022, Ontario decided to roll out legal sports betting. If you are in Canada, join FanDuel and access the best promotions and betting opportunities.

Responsible Gaming

Social responsibility is a critical aspect of FanDuel’s value proposition, and the company takes its commitment to responsible gambling very seriously.

FanDuel is committed to promoting responsible gambling and ensuring that its platform is a safe and enjoyable place for all its users. The company is aware that gambling can be addictive, and they actively take several steps to mitigate these risks.

One way in which FanDuel encourages responsible gambling is through its self-exclusion program, which gives users the option to voluntarily exclude themselves from accessing the platform during a specified period of time. FanDuel also provides users with tools and resources, such as setting deposit limits, time limits, and loss limits, to manage their betting activity and ensure that they are not harming themselves through gambling.

FanDuel has partnerships with various responsible gambling organizations, such as the National Council on Problem Gambling, the Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey, and the International Centre for Responsible Gaming, supporting efforts to educate and assist those who might be struggling with a gambling addiction.

FanDuel also employs a dedicated responsible gambling team that is tasked with monitoring user activity and identifying any potential concerns related to problem gambling. The platform accepts requests from qualified third parties who have concerns about a player’s ability to manage his or her play, allowing them to request a limitation on that player’s use of FanDuel. Limitations may include restriction of or exclusion from play.
