Joe Flacco is a quarterback who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. A Super Bowl champion, Flacco has reached the pinnacle of the sport during his career and has been a key piece for some of the best teams of his era in the NFL. In the latter stages of his career, Flacco is still looking to make an impact.
Joe Flacco started his football career in high school at Audubon High School in Audubon, New Jersey. His work on the football field resulted in him being deemed a three-star recruit and a top-40 quarterback recruit in his class. He parlayed that designation into a spot with the Pittsburgh Panthers to start his college career.
At the University of Pittsburgh, Joe Flacco was redshirted during his first year at the school. In year two, Flacco was on the bench behind starting quarterback Tyler Palko. Flacco saw very limited action in three non-conference games, throwing just four passes in his time as a Panthers quarterback.
Flacco transferred to the University of Delaware for his final two years of collegiate eligibility. He threw for 7,057 yards in those two seasons, throwing 41 touchdowns to 15 interceptions. He led the Blue Hens to the FCS championship game, which Delaware lost to Appalachian State to close out his collegiate career.

The highlight of Flacco’s career with the Ravens was the 2012 season. That year, Flacco threw 22 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in the regular season. But he helped the Ravens win the Super Bowl with an immaculate postseason. In that postseason, Flacco threw 10 touchdown passes with zero interceptions and won Super Bowl MVP honors when the Ravens beat the San Francisco 49ers.
Flacco had arguably the best year of his professional career in 2014. He threw for 3,986 yards and had a career-high 27 touchdown passes. He played well in 2016 as well, earning his only 4,000 yard season with 4,317 passing yards and 20 touchdowns. But none of those years quite lived up to the playoff run that Flacco orchestrated in 2012, and the Ravens never returned to the Super Bowl with Flacco.
Flacco remained in Baltimore until the end of the 2018 season, where he threw a total of 212 touchdown passes. Since then, he has gone to the Denver Broncos and New York Jets for a season apiece. He then signed with the Philadelphia Eagles ahead of the 2021 season.
