NFC CHAMPIONSHIP ODDS
The NFC in 2023 is different from the AFC where there’s not much depth in the conference and it’s top-heavy instead.
The Eagles lost a lot this past offseason, but it makes sense that the Philadelphia Eagles are currently still favored to win the NFC championship after being crowned the conference winner in 2022-23.
The 49ers are right behind and should be much better after getting wrecked by injuries last year. Those are the clear top two bets to advance in the NFL playoffs and then the Cowboys and the Lions are next up.
The Cowboys have question marks after last season and the Lions hype has bubbled all offseason. There’s a distinct line after those four with a lot of teams having question marks after that.
The Vikings and the Saints are two teams to look at because they went through some makeovers this offseason. There could also be some value in looking at either the Green Bay Packers or the Chicago Bears out of the NFC North as longshots because both teams are going to be completely different than they were last season. This conference is very top-heavy and the odds reflect that before the season kicks off.
2024 NFC CHAMPIONSHIP PICKS & PREDICTIONS
The NFC Championship should be a rematch of last year. Philadelphia and San Francisco are easily the two best teams in the NFC and are considered preseason favorites by many to be the NFC championship winner.
The Eagles have the best quarterback in the NFC in Jalen Hurts. He almost won the MVP award last season and should be right back in the hunt for it this season.
They added D’Andre Swift to the backfield and he still has A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith to throw to.
The defense lost a few pieces, but they still have Haason Reddick in the front seven and then Darius Slay is the leader in the secondary. The Eagles need to replace both their defensive and offensive coordinators, but that shouldn’t be too much of an issue with the talent they still have.
The 49ers are finally healthy coming into the regular season. Brock Purdy should be the starter after performing well down the stretch at quarterback.
The offensive weapons he has to work with are great. Christian McCaffrey is one of the best running backs in the NFL, while George Kittle is also one of the best tight ends in the league too. Deebo Samuel is also a weapon anytime he touches the ball.
On defense, they need to replace DeMeco Ryans at coordinator, but Nick Bosa and Fred Warner lead the way for a loaded defense.
The Philadelphia Eagles should win a much closer NFC Championship Game and represent the NFC again in the Super Bowl.
2023-24 NFC OPENING BETTING ODDS
Coming into this season, the NFC was seen as being very top-heavy with the Philadelphia Eagles and the San Francisco 49ers being the clear favorites, with the Dallas Cowboys not too far behind.
The opening odds reflect that, with there being a steep drop-off after the Cowboys to win the conference. There’s even a big drop-off from the 49ers to the Cowboys.
The current odds for each team get steeper and steeper starting with the Lions at +900, with them growing exponentially from there, bottoming out with the Arizona Cardinals at +8500.
FAVORITES TO WIN NFC CHAMPIONSHIP 2023
The Philadelphia Eagles won the NFC championship last year and are considered the favorites this season. The biggest key is that Jalen Hurts is their quarterback and they have great weapons on offense and still should have a dominant defense.
The San Francisco 49ers are right behind and they might have the best collection of talent overall on both offense and defense, but quarterback is a bit of a question mark.
The Dallas Cowboys round out the top three, and they should have a dominant defense, but there are still questions about their offense and those will linger throughout the season.
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES ODDS TO WIN NFC
The Eagles are the top dogs at +330 to win the NFC. Jalen Hurts should be the best quarterback in the NFC. A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and D’Andre Swift are a great offensive trio out wide and in the receiving corps. The offensive line will still be solid, with Jason Kelce being an anchor at center.
The defense should still be one of the best with Haason Reddick leading the way, but rookie Jalen Carter being a standout, and Darius Slay still being a great corner in the secondary. There’s some concern with both the offensive and defensive coordinators leaving for head coaching jobs, but the players are still relatively consistent and in some cases they got better.
The Eagles are going to be a force once again this season and those odds are warranted.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS ODDS TO WIN NFC
The Minnesota Vikings check-in at 6th in the odds to win the NFC at +1400. This is a team that won 13 games last year, but looked questionable all season. They still have Kirk Cousins at quarterback, who has faced harsh criticism, but statistically, he had his best season yet last year.
They lost Dalvin Cook and Adam Thielen in the offseason, but have an exciting rookie wide receiver in Jordan Addison, who’s teaming up with Jordan Jefferson and T.J. Hockenson to make a very good receiving corps. The offensive line should be solid too.
The biggest question mark is with a defense that struggled all season, but they hired Brian Flores as their new defensive coordinator, which is a great step towards them being better.
The Vikings are an interesting team this year, and should be in the NFC title hunt.
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS ODDS TO WIN NFC
The San Francisco 49ers out of the NFC West are second behind the Eagles to win the NFC at +400. The 49ers were decimated by injuries last year to the quarterback position, but it led them to their new starter in Brock Purdy. Purdy emerged after Jimmy Garoppolo got injured and went on a 12 game winning streak which cemented his position.
He has great weapons around him with Christian McCaffrey in the backfield and Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and George Kittle in the receiving corps. The offensive line will also be one of the best with Trent Williams leading the way.
The defense is also still one of the best in the league with Arik Armstead, Nick Bosa, and Fred Warner leading their front seven. If Purdy can be solid this season, then the 49ers could easily win the NFC.
DALLAS COWBOYS ODDS TO WIN NFC
The Dallas Cowboys are third in the NFC odds behind the Eagles and the 49ers at +600, and are considered the favorites to win the NFC East. The Cowboys have the talent.
Starting with Dak Prescott, but he needs to cut down on the mistakes after he led the league in interceptions in only 12 games last season. CeeDee Lamb is a great receiver out wide, while Tony Pollard will take over at running back full-time. The offensive line is still great as well.
The defense should be one of the best in the NFL with Micah Parsons being a force off the edge, but he’s also joined by DeMarcus Lawrence and Leighton Vander Esch in the front seven. The key is the offense, and if they can play better, then Dallas is an NFC contender.
NFC Championship Betting History
The NFC has seen four different winners in the last four seasons, with the Philadelphia Eagles being the latest winners last season.
Since 2010, teams that have been in the top three in odds to win at the beginning of the season have won the NFC five times. The Seahawks in 2013 and 2014, the Rams in 2018, the Buccaneers in 2020, and the Rams again in 2021.
Based on this recent history, in betting terms, the Eagles and the 49ers have great odds to get to the Super Bowl and represent the NFC because five times in 13 years is still relatively good odds.

BEST BETS: NFC CHAMPION & POPULAR NFL FUTURES 2023
Betting NFL futures can be a great wager for any bettor. Betting on the NFC championship will offer some great NFL odds, while betting on the right team to win the AFC championship can also result in favorable odds. Depending on the online sportsbook,
San Francisco 49ers (+400): This is a great bet because the 49ers are going to be healthy finally and they have the talent and coaching to match up with anyone in the NFL.
Brock Purdy (1,374 passing yards) was great in limited action and should be very good with an entire season in front of him. He might have the best offensive weapons at his disposal too with Christian McCaffrey (746 rushing yards) in the backfield and Deebo Samuel (632 receiving yards), George Kittle (765 receiving yards), and Brandon Aiyuk (1,015 receiving yards) in the receiving corps.
Arik Armstead, Nick Bosa, and Fred Warner are also mainstays in a great defense for San Francisco. San Francisco got so close last season, and they’re set up for a run this season.
Detroit Lions (+900): The Detroit Lions hype started last season and has grown this entire offseason. This is an aggressive team that should take an extra step this season.
Jared Goff (4,438 passing yards) faced a lot of questions, but he’s cemented himself as the starter at quarterback. Amon-Ra St. Brown (1,161 receiving yards) is his best target in the receiving corps, but Jameson Williams is also available now for a whole season. Jahmyr Gibbs should be a very good running back for Detroit as a rookie.
The defense is a bit of a question mark, but they got much better down the stretch last season and should be led by Aidan Hutchinson off the edge. Detroit is set up to be very good this season.
