Trey Murphy III was born on June 18, 2000, in Durham, North Carolina. Standing at 6 feet 9 inches and weighing 206 pounds, Murphy developed his basketball skills at Rice University before transferring to the University of Virginia. At Virginia, he honed his three-point shooting and defensive skills, making him a versatile player in the college circuit.
