Global Poker reportedly received a cease-and-desist letter from the Tennessee attorney general’s office. Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti targeted nearly 40 sweepstakes operators with cease-and-desist letters in late 2025. Social sportsbooks Thrillzz, KicKr, and Rebet also exited Tennessee. Tennessee lawmakers approved the sweepstakes ban bill on April 23, 2026 by a 69-17 House vote. The Tennessee bill targets “a virtual-currency, dual-currency, or multi-currency system,” per the bill text. The Tennessee bill places violations under the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act of 1977. The Tennessee bill now awaits the governor’s signature.
