Tyson Jost was born on March 14, 1998, in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada. Standing at 5 feet 11 inches and weighing 187 pounds, Jost honed his skills early on in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) with the Penticton Vees. His impressive performance there earned him a spot at the University of North Dakota, where he continued to develop his game and caught the attention of NHL scouts.
Jost is known for his versatility and two-way play, making him a valuable asset on both ends of the ice. His agility and quick decision-making allow him to excel in transitional play. While not the most physically imposing player, Jost uses his hockey IQ and positioning to create scoring opportunities and disrupt opponents' plays.
Drafted 10th overall by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2016 NHL Draft, Jost quickly made his mark in the league. He debuted in the 2016-2017 season and has since been a consistent contributor. Though his point totals have fluctuated, his ability to adapt to various roles has been a cornerstone of his NHL career. Jost's international experience includes representing Canada at the World Junior Championships, adding to his well-rounded resume.
