Jakob Chychrun was born on March 31, 1998, in Boca Raton, Florida. Standing at 6'2" and weighing 210 pounds, Chychrun's hockey journey began in the youth leagues of Florida before he moved to Canada to further develop his skills. He played for the Sarnia Sting in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where his performance caught the attention of NHL scouts, leading to his selection by the Arizona Coyotes (25-45-12) as the 16th overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft.
Chychrun is known for his robust two-way play and exceptional skating ability.
