Kelly’s three-run shot was the second career pinch-hit home run for Carson Kelly. Brooks Raley had not surrendered a home run in 53.2 innings before Kelly’s drive. New York had taken a 1-0 lead on a Mark Vientos home run in the second inning. Vientos hit the ball 434 feet to left-center for that home run. Ian Happ tied the game with a 431-foot shot to center in the bottom of the second. Francisco Lindor and Luis Robert Jr. each collected two hits for the New York Mets.

The New York Mets have been outscored 60-18 across the 10-game skid. The Mets fell to a 7-14 record on Saturday. Only four teams in MLB history have lost 10 or more consecutive games and reached the postseason. The last was the Cleveland Guardians in 2025. David Peterson (0-3, 6.41 ERA) starts Sunday’s finale for New York against Javier Assad (1-1, 8.10 ERA) of Chicago.
