The Indiana sweepstakes casino ban takes effect July 1, 2026. Indiana players have 45 days to redeem Sweeps Coin balances before platforms go dark.

What Indiana Players Must Do Before July 1

Governor Mike Braun signed House Bill 1052 on March 13, 2026. The law bans any online game using a dual-currency system that simulates casino-style gambling. Players can no longer exchange virtual credits for cash or prizes after July 1. Indiana joins at least nine US states with a statutory sweepstakes casino ban.

Affected platforms include Chumba Casino, WOW Vegas, McLuck, and Stake.us. Pulsz, High 5 Casino, Crown Coins, RealPrize, Hello Millions, and LoneStar will also block Indiana residents on July 1. Each Indiana player should submit Sweeps Coin redemption requests now. Most platforms process redemptions in one to five business days.

Players with unverified accounts face the highest risk. Know Your Customer verification is required to process any redemption. Indiana residents should complete KYC checks immediately. Unverified accounts may lose access to outstanding Sweeps Coin balances entirely.

The Indiana Gaming Commission can issue civil penalties up to $100,000 per violation. That enforcement authority covers out-of-state platforms serving Indiana residents after July 1. HB 1052 includes one notable exemption. Peer-to-peer, skill-based poker platforms remain legal in Indiana under HB 1052.
