Young Pulls Away as Spieth and Scheffler Chase

Young opened with an 8-under 64 in Round 1. That score marked the lowest round of the 2026 season for the American. Young extended the advantage through Friday’s second round to reach 13 under par overall.

Alex Smalley sits second at 9 under par. Nick Taylor and Jordan Spieth share third place at 8 under par. Gary Woodland holds fifth at 7 under. Scottie Scheffler sits tied for sixth at 6 under par. The world’s top-ranked player shares that position with Brian Harman and Si Woo Kim.

The Cadillac Championship carries a $20 million purse. The winner earns $3.6 million and 700 FedExCup points. The field features 37 of the top 50 players in the Official World Golf Ranking. Rory McIlroy chose to skip the event. The Blue Monster Course measures 7,739 yards at par 72.

Weekend play begins Saturday with coverage on Golf Channel from noon to 3 p.m. ET. CBS and Paramount+ carry the broadcast from 3 to 6 p.m. ET.
