The Washington Wizards landed the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NBA draft on Sunday night. The Wizards earned the first top selection for Washington since the 2010 NBA draft. Post-Lottery Mock Draft: Top Five Picks for the 2026 NBA Draft

The Utah Jazz selected second after moving up in the 2026 NBA draft lottery. The Memphis Grizzlies grabbed the third pick despite a 9.4% lottery chance entering Sunday. The Chicago Bulls climbed into the top four after the lottery balls fell. The Indiana Pacers lost a top-four protected pick to the LA Clippers, who get No. 5.

AJ Dybantsa led NCAA Division I in scoring during a freshman season at BYU. Dybantsa fits the Wizards on two-way upside, size, and physicality, per ESPN’s Jeremy Woo. Darryn Peterson of Kansas sits at No. 2 to Utah on the ESPN post-lottery board. Cameron Boozer of Duke sits at No. 3 to Memphis on the same ESPN mock draft.

The Washington Wizards lost 26 of their final 27 games in the 2025-26 NBA season. The Wizards have not finished above .500 since the 2017-18 NBA season. Washington acquired Trae Young and Anthony Davis at the trade deadline this past February. The Wizards now pair veterans Young and Davis with a potential franchise prospect in the draft.

The NBA draft combine begins Monday in Chicago and runs through the end of the week. College players have until 11:59 p.m. ET on May 27 to withdraw from the 2026 NBA draft. The Wizards will conduct a process involving Dybantsa, Peterson, Boozer, and Caleb Wilson, per ESPN. ESPN’s Jeremy Woo and CBS Sports’ Adam Finkelstein agree on Dybantsa as the projected No. 1 pick.
