Thunder without Jalen Williams for Game 7

The Oklahoma City Thunder will play Game 7 without Jalen Williams. Oklahoma City ruled out Williams with a left hamstring strain on May 29, 2026. The Thunder host the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday.

Hamstring Strain Sidelines a Thunder Playmaker

Jalen Williams suffered the hamstring injury in Game 2 of the first round. Williams hurt it against the Phoenix Suns and missed the next six games. Williams returned for the Western Conference Finals but left Game 2 after seven minutes.

Jalen Williams returned for Game 6 but played just 10 minutes. Williams attempted only one shot during that limited Game 6 run. Oklahoma City also remains without guard Ajay Mitchell for Game 7.

Oklahoma City swept the Phoenix Suns in the first round. The Thunder went 4-0 to open the 2026 playoffs. Williams suffered his hamstring strain during that Phoenix series. The strain has limited Williams across the 2026 playoffs.

The Western Conference Finals series sits tied at three games each. Game 7 decides the matchup between Oklahoma City and San Antonio. Oklahoma City earned home court for the deciding game.

The San Antonio Spurs forced Game 7 with a 118-91 rout in Game 6. Victor Wembanyama posted 28 points and 10 rebounds for San Antonio. Wembanyama rested for most of the fourth quarter of the rout. San Antonio won Game 6 at home to extend the series.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander managed just 15 points for Oklahoma City in Game 6. Gilgeous-Alexander scored under 20 points for only the second time this postseason. The Spurs leaned on three-point shooting to build the 118-91 margin. Oklahoma City shot poorly from three-point range in that Game 6 loss.

Oklahoma City must replace Williams’s scoring without two key playmakers. The Thunder leaned on Williams as a secondary creator all season. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander now carries an even heavier Game 7 load. Williams ranked as the Thunder’s second scoring option this season.

Game 7 sends one team to the NBA Finals. Oklahoma City hosts the do-or-die game at 8:30 p.m. ET. A loss ends the Thunder’s 2026 season on home court. The Thunder must win at home to reach the NBA Finals.
