The Social Gaming Leadership Alliance named Sean Ostrow its executive director on July 10, 2026. Ostrow replaces Jeff Duncan, who now sits on the Alliance board. SGLA also expanded that board with three more members.

SGLA Names Ostrow Executive Director and Expands Board

The Social Gaming Leadership Alliance promotes “Social Plus” games in the United States. Sean Ostrow had served as the SGLA managing director since October 2025. Jeff Duncan, a former South Carolina congressman, previously held the executive director post.

Ostrow worked at the law firm Orrick, Herrington and Sutcliffe before SGLA. At Orrick, Ostrow supported policy work for the Sports Betting Alliance. Ostrow also advised Major League Baseball, the NBA, and the PGA Tour. Earlier, Ostrow helped FanDuel advance fantasy sports laws in several states.

SGLA added three more board members alongside Duncan. Derek Brinkman, chief new products officer at VGW, joined the board. Lloyd Melnick, the VGW chief government affairs officer, joined as well. VGW operates Chumba Casino, LuckyLand Slots, and Global Poker. Bryan Schroeder, general counsel at ARB Interactive, was the third addition.

The appointments arrive as US states tighten sweepstakes casino rules. Indiana banned sweepstakes casinos effective July 1, 2026. SGLA lobbies state legislatures on behalf of Social Plus operators. Duncan said Ostrow can “guide SGLA through its next phase of growth.”
