Yannick Weber was born on September 23, 1988, in Morges, Switzerland. Standing at 5 feet 11 inches and weighing 200 pounds, Weber began his hockey journey in his native Switzerland before moving to North America to further his career. He played junior hockey for the Kitchener Rangers in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he showcased his offensive skills from the blue line, leading to his selection by the Montreal Canadiens in the third round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
