Gabriel Bourque was born on September 23, 1990, in Rimouski, Quebec, Canada. Standing at 5'10" and weighing 206 pounds, Bourque began his hockey journey in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar. His performance in the junior leagues showcased his potential and led to his selection by the Nashville Predators in the fifth round, 132nd overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Bourque is known for his tenacity and defensive reliability on the ice. As a left winger, he's adept at forechecking and plays a gritty game that often disrupts opponents' offensive flow. While not a prolific scorer, his ability to play a strong two-way game makes him a valuable asset in penalty-killing situations and defensive matchups.
Bourque made his NHL debut with the Nashville Predators during the 2011-2012 season, quickly establishing himself as a dependable role player. One of his notable achievements includes scoring a game-winning goal in his first NHL playoff game against the Detroit Red Wings in 2012. Throughout his NHL career, Bourque has also contributed to the Colorado Avalanche and Winnipeg Jets, consistently bringing energy and experience to his teams.
