John Mark Shaw was born on March 15, 2002, in Dallas, Texas. Standing at 6'2" and weighing 215 lbs, Shaw's athletic build was evident from a young age. He played high school football at Dallas Central High, where he quickly established himself as a standout quarterback, leading his team to two state championships. His early success caught the attention of college scouts, earning him a scholarship to play for the University of Texas Longhorns.
Shaw is known for his strong arm and quick decision-making skills, making him a formidable presence on the field. In the 2022 season, Shaw led the Longhorns to a 10-3 record, throwing for 3,500 yards and 28 touchdowns, while also rushing for 500 yards and 8 touchdowns. His performance earned him a spot on the All-Big 12 First Team and he was a finalist for the Davey O'Brien Award.
