Cam Pruitt was born on March 15, 2002, in Houston, Texas. Standing at 6'2" and weighing 210 pounds, Pruitt began his football journey at Westfield High School, where he quickly established himself as a formidable defensive back. His impressive high school stats, including 75 tackles and 5 interceptions in his senior year, caught the attention of multiple college scouts, eventually leading him to commit to the University of Texas.
Pruitt is known for his aggressive playing style and excellent field awareness. His ability to read the quarterback and anticipate plays has made him one of the standout safeties in the NCAAF. With a 4.45-second 40-yard dash, he's able to cover ground quickly, allowing him to be effective both in pass coverage and run support. His physicality and tackling ability are complemented by his leadership skills on the field.
During his sophomore year, Pruitt was instrumental in leading the Texas Longhorns to a 10-2 record, earning him a spot on the All-Big 12 Second Team. He recorded 85 tackles, 3 interceptions, and 2 forced fumbles that season. His performance against the Oklahoma Sooners, where he made 12 tackles and a game-winning interception, remains one of his career highlights.
