Every draft year has a significant amount of prospects who are smaller sized less developed kids who get initially get overlooked as guys you might take later because so many parts in the engine still need fine tuning. Kulich is in that category in November but then he was permanently elevated to the Czechia pro league team of HC Energie Karlovy Vary after a nice performance in the Hlinka-Gretsky tourney and as so many NHL newbies, was asked to play on the left to get comfortable with the competition and pace. Her responded quickly scoring a half dozen goals or so from the slot tip-ins and rebounds. He has some neat moves, and really good hands in tight. He played his way up he line up to their second line. His quick success against these old pros was impressive since he was lacking upper and lower body strength. His shot is one with little wind up. He will cycle around the action, digging pucks out of scrums. He can lean hard into his edges and make tight turns. He seems to always move the puck at the correct time. Has a slick toe-drag around a defender so he could gain the offensive zone. Smooth fluid skater with excellent speed and acceleration. Is a power play point man due to his heavy long distance one-timer. He shows over all prowess at 200 feet, and good defensive recognition to slide off his man and pick up an opposing forward breaking up the middle. He led the World Junior U-18s nine goals and 39 shots, where he was dominant. We knew he could score in close but, he shoots fifty foot bombs on one times that impressed me further. To me he gets it already and should be more effective after he gains additional strength and explosiveness. He has very long arms, and a frame that can fill out. He played against men and excelled against his fellow under eighteen-ers in the Worlds. And he can play wing.
