Son of Shawn is a big college winger who graduated from the USA-NDT. He may end up as a left winger in the bigs to utilize his size. He is currently at the University of Michigan, but was able to join his USA team in the World Junior Under-18s. He is a big man with heavy shot. He is very good on the cycle and holding off defenders away from the puck. He has a soild three zone game and keeps thing simple in the offensive end. His skating is good for a large human hockey player. He generates power that transfers to his checks and positioning. The NHL never turns away forecheckers of this ilk. His game may transfer better to the NHL after he continues to develop. This kid needs much more time growing into his game both physically and on-ice, but he is on the right trajectory.
