All around defender whose game was taken up a notch at the US college level. He can move quickly in a straight line, but lack ability in his turns. He still has plenty of mobilty that aids him in his shutdown role. It’s when he is in a stop/start, and his lack of stabilty on his blades that he gets caught flat footed when he starts mirroring opposing forwards. He has improved his success in transitions out of his end. By the end of the season, there was a qualitative jump in his skating. He is able to successful thread the needle with his passes. His game turned more physical and he crashed bodies in open ice and along the wall. Plays with pace a bit and then will look less urgent when he should be. He is creative and always trying to make things happen offensively.
