It’s difficult mocking one of the classes’ most consistent all-around defenceman when he stands under six feet and 180 pounds, but consistently plays a high achiever in all three zones. Sure he does defend his net front, but it is his feet and head that get him up close and personal in contact with his stick on stick, his deflections his closing down and his transitions. He is so mobile, confident in his pivots and retrievals, because his legs and feet explode into his crossovers, due to his strong ankle mobility in his boots, confident at defensively closing gaps, and on the attack. He is a on the fly precision passer. plays ggressive and fearless in his engagement to shut down attackers, using his stick and body, unearthing the biscuit and then reversing on the attack. How much more can he grow?
Repetitive viewing only verifies that although he is undersized, he can play the NHL game and possibly deserves his name called before the the majority of the bigger dee-men get chose. He is that good. Smaller new age defender with a high skill level who is an offensive catalyst. His skating and skill help defensively to make up for his lack of size.
