A big left wing with nice speed, lateral agility, elusiveness and playmaking skills. He has the feet and mechnics to smoothly attack using crossovers and his body, hands and stick to protect pucks in his possession, and stick handle through sticks. His skill is high end and will display pace and urgency, as is his patience in his possessions. What would seal the deal on hearing his name called early would be him Scouts felt he used his size more in both offensive and defensive plays. As an attacker, he continues to improve his playing his team’s transitions out of their end, as it was a weakness early on. He is a smart, heady player when he is handed the puck to lead the zone entries. He very well may be one of the best playmakers in the draft class, albeit an older draftee. His timing is excellent, and his ability to feather passes after using his puck-handling skills to hold and lets things on the ice develop, then pass the biscuit to his open teammate. He is a really good target. He gets to open areas, and uses his hands to secure pucks to finish the plays. Needs to build on his 200 foot game, and show better effort in his forecheck. If he can work and unearth pucks, he most certainly can extend offensive plays using his skills. He needs a much better over-all effort as a back-checker and again, improving his use of his size and skills will only aid to his ability to grow a two way game. He is still needs the development of a more inside game that power forwards must develop. What team is ignoring the fact there is a six foot four winger on the board with great hands, poise, and playmaking ability? So far there are glimpses of physical engagements but that is an ingredient that puts him over the edge to being a strong value when out there. Oh, the skating stride just has to improve, but I don’t think it is a deal breaker. The dynamic Moose Jaw left wing is one of the above average playmakers in the class. Once his squad rolls into the attack zone, he becomes a terrific and dynamic playmaking left winger, displaying puck control, size, and speed, who is patient in his carries, buying time byusing his size to hold off defenders.
