USA-National Developmental Team has had a history at developing solid NHL wingers and this kid looks like he may be another one. Currently his scoring prowess has not been anywhere near his pass totals with Shattuck St. Mary’s or even his first season in USHL with the program’s USNTDP Juniors team, but it is not so much what he does on the scoresheet as all the little things he does on the ice every shift that puts his team in a position to win. He wins offensive board battles, he tracks down loose pucks after shots, and make himself available in transition, his constant awareness in defensive zone coverage and making sure pucks get out of his end when opposing defensemen are pinching down on him. Has had a miserably poor second half in 2024. and was recently demoted to the US U-17 squad, not the best draft indicator. When you put that all together with a prospect who sees the game well, you have lots to work with. And the correct skills coach might bring improve the lacking “o.” Committed to the University of Michigan.

Epperson is from Wisconsin and played on the USNDTP team before spending this year at Saginaw; he will go to Denver in the NCAA for 2025-26. From the scouting reports he is always engaged and around the puck. Scored at a high rate this year, some of that is due to playing with Misa. Sounds like there are questions about his skating, so he would be a middle 6 forward if he pans out. Highlights show carrying and passing ability, opportunistic in the offensive zone with good puck control when shooting.
