SCOUTING REPORT

One of the most under-rated prospects in this draft, Seattle’s Jordan Gustafson is undersized, but much more physical than the majority of the over six foot one wings in the draft class. If he reaches his potential he will spend the next ten years as a top six NHLer. Slight but shows lots of muscle around the board area and quick leg strength sprints to return to full stride. He creates multiple chances by keeping his et moving.

A pro style passer who fires them hard and is strong on his stick, digging pucks out off the corners. Jumps in to support when his teammates were exposed, winning back pucks. It is fairly difficult to intercept his hard pro type passes. He makes great shot blocks high in his zone, and also is good in puck pursuit and bothering the opposing players who don’t have possession. His unselfish sacrifices of his body have tilted more than one game the other way. He shows a persistant and disruptive forecheck. The fact that he suffered an injury in the February, and that probably pushed him out of first round considerations, but in the Dub, only forwards Savoie and Geekie has has high a ceiling, if he reaches his potential. More appeling glamorous players will go before him with home run swings, but he is a more certain double or triple into the gap and smart scouting staffs are not going to overlook him.
