Early 2021 NFL Week 1 Odds Are Here
The NFL has gone too far.
It wasn't enough for the powers that be to turn the NFL draft into a three-day slog, but now they've transformed a silly schedule release into an all-day event.
While morsels of information are dropped throughout the day, we do know the entire opening week matchups for the upcoming 2021 campaign. And that includes some early lines, via BetMGM.
Week 1 NFL Lines and Totals
Cowboys at Buccaneers (-6.5); 52.5
Vikings (-2.5) at Bengals; 47.5
Cardinals at Titans (-3); 51.5
Seahawks at Colts (-2.5); 52.5
Chargers at Washington (-1); 45
Dolphins at Patriots (-2.5); 46
Broncos (-1.5) at Giants; 42.5
Ravens (-5.5) at Raiders; 51.5
Due to the uncertainty surrounding Aaron Rodgers' playing status, the Packers-Saints game is not listed.
Some notable takeaways include...
- The Jaguars (and Trevor Lawrence) open as favorites over the Texans, making the No. 1 pick the only rookie QB to favored in his first start unless Trey Lance starts for the 49ers.

rookies QBs starting week 1 since 2010:
12 losses
6 wins
1 tie
only 4 of 19 were favored:
1 won & covered
-Carson Wentz
3 lost outright & didn't cover
-Dak Prescott
-Jameis Winston
-Russell Wilson
- Sam Darnold will take on his former team, the New York Jets, in Week 1. Darnold will look to exact revenge as his new squad is 4.5-point favorites.
- Two NFC West teams — the Rams and 49ers — are the two biggest favorites in Week 1 with 7-point spreads. That doesn't necessarily bode well for people wagering on them.
Since 1993, NFL favorites of 7 or more points in Week 1 have gone 25-41 (38%) ATS.
