Tom Brady Wants Buccaneers to Trade for Odell Beckham Jr.
Tom Brady usually gets what he wants.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion wanted to leave the Patriots and join a contender, which he obviously did. He wanted the Buccaneers to sign Rob Gronkowski and Antonio Brown. And that, of course, happened.
And now he has another desire: Odell Beckham Jr.
On Monday's episode of ESPN's Get Up, Adam Schefter reported that Brady "might want" the Bucs to acquire the Browns' enigmatic receiver. Schefter added that it would be "challenging to fit a wide receiver in at that number on top of everything else they're trying to get done there."
Tampa Bay currently has nearly $12 million in cap space, according to Over the Cap. But the team still needs to re-sign Shaquil Barrett and Chris Godwin, two of our favorite free agents, among other players.
Beckham originally signed a five-year, $90 million extension with the New York Giants. He has $15.75 million cap hit in 2021. He's signed through the 2023 campaign.
Beckham played in just seven games last year before suffering a torn ACL. He tallied 23 catches for 319 yards in 2020.
