Come On Down to Denver: The Broncos Filled Their Stadium With 'South Park' Characters
Come on down to Denver, and meet some friends of the Broncos.
While plenty of sports teams offer fans the opportunity to have a cardboard cutout of themselves in their empty stadiums, the Denver Broncos got pretty creative with their "fans." In their Week 3 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Broncos had the entire town of South Park in the stands of Empower Field at Mile High.

The Broncos also allowed 5,700 socially distanced fans in their stadium, but who cares about them when Eric Cartman, Butters Stotch, Randy Marsh and other classic characters are there.

Of course, this is just a clever advertising ploy by ViacomCBS as South Park's "The Pandemic Special" premieres this Wednesday on Comedy Central.
And — you know what? — it worked, because, here we are, writing about it.
