Alabama's Mac Jones Back as Betting Favorite to Be Drafted By 49ers in 2021 NFL Draft

With the first two picks in the 2021 NFL Draft nearly set in stone, all eyes have been on the 49ers at No. 3 overall ever since they traded up in March.

Depending on which "expert" you listen to, the 49ers have their sights set on Mac Jones or Justin Fields or, heck, even Trey Lance. (For the record, we have the Niners selecting Lance in our 2021 NFL Mock Draft).

Following Fields' second pro day, the Ohio State quarterback's odds to be drafted third overall jumped as high as -121. Now that Lance's second pro day is complete, the odds have shifted again, but not in the North Dakota State passer's way, though.

Jones, who is a divisive prospect, is back to being the betting favorite, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. Jones, as of April 21, is now the -125 favorite while Fields (+125) and Lance (+400) are second and third, respectively.

NFL experts such as ESPN's Todd McShay, Dan Orlovsky and NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah along with insiders like Ian Rapoport all believe the 49ers will select Jones in the upcoming NFL draft despite more talented QB prospects being available.

As always, these odds are not gospel. They will certainly change over the next week. Jones becoming the favorite just means more money has been bet on him so the odds have shifted.

But the banging of the drum for Jones to San Francisco continues to grow louder and louder.
