Johnny Golf? Johnny Manziel Wants to Become a Professional Golfer
Johnny Football is no more.
Johnny Manziel, who recently played in the startup football league Fan Controlled Football, is becoming Johnny Golf.
In an appearance on the "Green Light with Chris Long" podcast, Manziel said that he has sights set on a new career: becoming a professional golfer.
"I'm giving myself 12 years to try to play professional golf,” Manziel said. "I’m gonna grind this out and see how good I can get. ... I think it is a very uphill battle, but that’s what I’m setting for my goals. I have 12 years to try and make a PGA Tour event.”
That seemingly puts an end to Manziel's rollercoaster football career. The former Texas A&M quarterback won the Heisman Trophy back in 2012 and went on to be a first-round pick by the Cleveland Browns. Unfortunately, Manziel was a massive bust and was out of the league in 2015.
It must be nice for a retired 28-year-old to give himself until he's 40 to make the PGA Tour.
