Jets Reportedly Rejected 49ers' First-Round Pick for Sam Darnold
Sam Darnold was almost a San Francisco 49er. That's if you believe the latest rumor swirling.
According to 104.3 The Fan in Denver, the Niners offered their No. 12 overall pick to the Jets for Sam Darnold. And New York turned them down despite having questions about Zach Wilson's surgically repaired shoulder.
Ah, what might have been. League sources tell me #Jets turned down #49ers first-round pick for Sam Darnold earlier this offseason. Joe Douglas & co. had concerns about Zach Wilson's shoulder & wanted to see his pro day. Now, super confident & will likely be no2 pick #NFLDraft

It's hard to believe that the Jets would turn down such an enticing offer since they traded the USC product to the Panthers for just a 2022 second-rounder and two later picks.
The Jets, who are seemingly locked into the BYU passer, don't seem to have any issues with Wilson's throwing shoulder now.
The 49ers, of course, made the massive move up the board to No. 3 to select either Justin Fields, Trey Lance or Mac Jones.
