Urban Meyer is bringing a familiar face to Jacksonville.
The Jaguars are planning to sign QB-turned-baseball-player-turned-tight-end Tim Tebow to a one-year deal, according to NFL Media.
The #Jaguars are planning to sign QB-turned-TE Tim Tebow to a 1-year deal, per me and @TomPelissero, a deal that could be official in the next week or so. Nothing done yet. But he’ll have a chance to make the team to reunite with his mentor and college head coach Urban Meyer.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) May 10, 2021
Tebow, who recently retired from minor league baseball, worked out for his former college coach last month.
The 33-year-old former Heisman Trophy winner was originally drafted by the Denver Broncos as a quarterback with the 25th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.
Before he was selected, there was talk about Tebow moving to tight end, but he preferred to play quarterback. But now that he's reunited with Meyer, Tebow might be the recipient of some goal-line jump passes.
