The Bears will reportedly make a big push to acquire the eight-time Pro Bowl quarterback. And the latest rumor circulating is about the passer who could replace Wilson in Seattle.
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll apparently still has a soft spot in his heart for the USC Trojans, who he coached from 2001 to 20019. Caroll has a "high opinion" of Jets quarterback Sam Darnold, according to the New York Daily News. And if the 'Hawks do trade Wilson to the Bears or another team, then Seattle could call the Jets to find his replacement.
Wilson, 32, is signed through the 2023 campaign and has a no-trade clause. But he leaked, through his agents, that he'd accept a trade to the Saints, Bears, Cowboys and Raiders. And with Dallas signing Dak Prescott, that eliminates the Cowboys.
The Jets appear willing to trade the former No. 3 overall pick this offseason since the franchise will most likely find their franchise quarterback with the No. 2 pick or trade that — along with more assets — for Deshaun Watson.
