Could the Seahawks Trade Russell Wilson?

The drama in Seattle isn't going away.

On Thursday, The Athletic dropped a piece filled to the brim with juicy details surrounding the growing rift between franchise quarterback Russell Wilson and the Seahawks

The biggest bomb dropped in the article was that Wilson's camp has talked to Seattle's front office about trading eight-time Pro Bowler.

Wilson would accept a trade to the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, Las Vegas Raiders and Chicago Bears, his agent Mark Rodgers told ESPN.

"Some people around the league think a trade could happen, if not this offseason then sometime in the near future," according to The Athletic.

It's unlikely that a trade comes to fruition this offseason because of financial limitations. The Seahawks currently have a little more than $4 million in cap space and dealing Wilson would result in a $39 million dead cap hit.

However, it would make sense to ship the 32-year-old passer away next offseason when the team could save $11 million if he's not on the team.

One way or another, it appears the Wilson era in Seattle could be coming to an end in the near future.
