Chargers Hire Rams' Brandon Staley as Head Coach
Brandon Staley won't have to move far.
The Rams' defensive coordinator has been named the next Chargers head coach, according to NFL Media.
The #Chargers are hiring #Rams DC Brandon Staley as their new head coach, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. An impressive young candidate, he gets a prime job in LA.

The 38-year-old defensive mastermind helped orchestrate arguably the best defense in the NFL this season with the Rams.
It's a meteoric rise for Staley, who spent only one season as the Rams' defensive coordinator before taking the Bolts' job.
Staley will have plenty of talent to work with in Los Angeles. The Chargers have Joey Bosa and a hopefully healthy Derwin James, which surely attracted Staley.
And, of course, there's Justin Herbert. The likely NFL Rookie of the Year just put together one of the best rookie seasons by a quarterback in NFL history.
The Chargers will need the defense to play well as they battle their division rival Chiefs twice a year.
