Arizona Cardinals Sign A.J. Green to 1-Year, $8.5M Deal

The Arizona Cardinals are adding another big name to the roster.

Seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver A.J. Green has agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $8.5 million, according to ESPN. The pact includes $6 million guaranteed.

The 32-year-old Green, who was drafted by fourth overall by the Bengals in 2011, is coming off a down season with just 523 receiving yards and a pair of touchdown catches.

While Green has dealt with a flurry of injuries over the past couple of seasons, he's shown he can be a dominant force at the position when healthy.

Since 2011, Green has used his towering 6-foot-4 frame to rank second in touchdown catches caught from 20+ yards, per PFF.

Over the course of his career, Green has hauled in 649 receptions for 9,430 yards and 65 touchdowns.

The Cardinals now have quite the imposing receiver corps if Green shows some semblance of his former self alongside superstar wideout DeAndre Hopkins and emerging speedster Christian Kirk.

As for their longtime stalwart at the position in Larry Fitzgerald, could this signing foreshadow a potential retirement is on the horizon?
