Cam Newton Tests Positive for COVID-19, Out Week 4

Cam Newton is the latest big-name player to test positive for the coronavirus

The Patriots starting quarterback has been placed on the COVID-19 list and will miss Sunday's highly anticipated game with the Kansas City Chiefs

The Patriots released a statement confirming that a player tested positive for the coronavirus and that others he was in contact with have tested negative.

This, of course, comes on the heels of a COVID-19 outbreak with the Tennessee Titans, who had their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers rescheduled for later in the season.

If that's any indication of what could happen with the Patriots, then their clash with the Chiefs is in question for Sunday. Hopefully, New England has been able to control the outbreak or we could have multiple teams with an outbreak in the NFL.

According to ESPN, the game will not be played Sunday. It'll be postponed to either Monday or Tuesday, depending on the results of future tests.

In three games this season, Newton has looked close to his old self, completing more than 68% of his passes for 714 yards and six total touchdowns.
