49ers Reportedly Offered Massive Deal to Packers for Aaron Rodgers

The pervading thought ever since the 49ers traded up to No. 3 was that San Francisco was going to take Mac Jones. Then it was Justin Fields, then Trey Lance. It all sounds like the Niners are great at keeping a secret or have no idea what they're going to do in their pursuit of a franchise quarterback.

It turns out it might be the latter.

The 49ers apparently offered the Packers Jimmy Garoppolo, the No. 3 pick and more for the reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers, according to Minnesota Vikings play-by-play announcer Paul Allen.

Sounds like a crazy Madlib, right?

Maybe not.

The Niners did reach out to the Pack about Rodgers, but there's a "zero percent chance" that Green Bay trades their quarterback, per NFL Media.

The 49ers weren't the only team to call about Rodgers, who has had a rocky relationship with the team the drafted him in 2005.

If Rodgers isn't traded during the 2021 NFL Draft, the Packers' drama should only continue as the season gets closer.
