EA Sports Is Bringing Back NCAA Football Video Game
College football fans rejoice.
In an unexpected — but glorious — announcement Tuesday, EA Sports confirmed that the NCAA Football game franchise will return in the near future.
EA Sports hasn't published a new game in the series since 2013 because of NCAA NIL rules that made it forbidden for amateur players — aka college football athletes — to earn money from their name and likeness. But with that rule expected to change shortly, there's been rumors of a new college football game on the horizon.
"As we look for the momentum that we're building on in sports, it all starts with the passion of our fans and the opportunities of what they are interested in," EA Sports vice president and general manager Daryl Holt said. "I don't think a visit where I go outside wearing a piece of EA Sports branded apparel, that someone doesn't go, 'Hey, when is college football coming back?'"
One major change for the upcoming football game? It won't be called "NCAA Football." EA Sports has confirmed it will be named "EA Sports College Football."
Who do you think should be on the cover of the first game?
