Corrigan's Gambling Corner: 4 Super Tuesday Best Bets: +1253 Parlay Odds - Feb. 8, 2022

Welcome back to the gambling corner. We are back with some best bets for another wonderful night on the hardwood.

It is Super Tuesday, so that means we have a lot of great matchups. We have three top 25 matchups tonight, but there is a lot of value outside the big matchups as well. Before we know it, we will be in the middle of the conference tournaments, and then we are all going to be filling out our March Madness brackets, so now is the time to start getting familiar with these teams.

We would love you to tail our picks, but we would especially love you to make a lot of money. As a sign of courtesy, we included the parlay odds for all four of our picks. We just ask that you always remember to gamble responsibly.

Here are tonight's winners.

Syracuse Orange at Boston College Eagles

Although this is not a great Syracuse team, this line surprised me a little bit. The Orange have won three straight games coming into tonight, and they are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games. On the other side, Boston College has only won twice in their last six games and although they are 12-6 ATS in their last 18 games played in February, they are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 against the Orange.

Boston College does not shoot well, and they are ranked 290th in scoring. While they do only limit teams to 66 points per game, their defense is ranked 215th in effective field goal percentage, 205th in shooting percentage, and 203rd in shooting efficiency. As a team, Syracuse is the complete opposite. They have a solid offense with a pretty bad defense. During their three-game winning streak, Syracuse is averaging 91.6 points per game and are winning by an average of 16 points.

This is not a great matchup for the Eagles as they tend to roll over and die when playing high-powered offenses. Although this game is at Boston College and the Eagles are 7-5 ATS at home this season, Syracuse should have no problems racking up the points tonight.

Pick: Syracuse -4.5 (-106)

Illinois Fighting Illini at Purdue Boilermakers

If you have been tracking my picks all season, you have probably figured out that I love Illinois.

Sure, Purdue is playing better than most teams at this moment, and they are a legit National Championship team. However, Illinois is a very well-balanced team, and they match up well against Purdue.

The Boilermakers are the best offense in the country according to KenPom, but their defense leaves a little to be desired. On the season, Purdue's defense is ranked 147th in scoring, 160th in effective field goal percentage, 114th in shooting percentage, and they are one of the worst teams in the country at forcing turnovers. That plays well for Illinois as their assists to turnover ratio is ranked 56th in the country.

While Illinois is 6-14 SU in their last 20 against Purdue, they are 4-2 ATS in their last six when playing the Boilermakers. Purdue took down the Illini by eight in their first meeting this year, but Illinois comes into this game as winners of four straight, and they are only allowing 58.7 points during that stretch.

Pick: Illinois +5.5 (-114)

North Carolina Tar Heels at Clemson Tigers

The standard at North Carolina is so high that a 16-7 record is a massive disappointment. They are young and going through a coaching change for the first time in many years, so it was pretty obvious that there would be some growing pains. However, when North Carolina losses, they lose by a lot of points. In their seven losses this year, North Carolina is losing by an average of 18.5 points.

Clemson is not a great offense, but they can certainly rack up the points. Over their last five games, they are scoring 72.2 points per game. North Carolina can get overwhelmed by great offenses, but they are a team that can also score in bunches. On the season, the Heels are ranked 22nd in scoring, 11th in three-point shooting percentage, and they are scoring 85.6 points over their last three.

I have two picks for this game, but I am more confident in the point total. The total has gone over the number in five of the last six for North Carolina and in this matchup, the over has cashed in six of the last seven. I would like to see the total hovering around 142, but both offenses are hot, and both defenses are not very great at times. Both teams are desperate for a win as we approach the tournament, and that plays well for North Carolina.

I like the Heels as a slight favorite and the over in this game.

Pick: North Carolina -1 (-110) & Over 146 (-106)
