Nuggets' Jamal Murray Suffers Season-Ending Torn ACL

Jamal Murray's season is over.

The Nuggets guard suffered a torn left ACL in the fourth quarter of Denver's 116-107 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Monday.

This is a crushing blow for a Nuggets team with championship aspirations. At the trade deadline, Denver acquired forward Aaron Gordon, who had catapulted the starting lineup to new heights.

Murray's injury is bound to spark debates about how wise it's been to jam a shortened 72-game season into such a small timeframe, with teams playing more back-to-backs than in recent years. In the meantime, the Nuggets will have to lean even more on Nikola Jokic, Michael Porter Jr. and Co.

Murray has dealt with nagging injuries all season but had continued to push through. The 24-year-old guard was enjoying a career year, averaging 21.2 points, four rebounds and 4.8 assists on 40% from three-point range.
