2021 NBA All-Star Game Starters Announced: Kevin Durant, LeBron James Named Captain
The starters for this year's NBA All-Star Game were announced Thursday. And, of course, there were some controversial selections.
In the Western Conference, Stephen Curry and Luka Doncic make up the backcourt, while LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard and Nikola Jokic round out the frontcourt.
The highest vote-getter in the Western Conference, James, 36, will be the captain of his fourth straight All-Star team.
Many people believe that Damian Lillard should've been named a starter, but the fan vote tipped the scales for Doncic.

In the Eastern Conference, Kyrie Irving and Bradley Beal compose the backcourt, with Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kevin Durant and Joel Embiid filling out the frontcourt.
In his first season back from an Achilles tear, Durant will be the East's team captain.
The game is set for March 7 in Atlanta and will feature the popular Elam Ending for the second year in a row.
The Elam Ending, for the uninitiated, will have both teams play to a target score. Whatever that number is, 24 points will be added in honor of the late Kobe Bryant.
The NBA will also hold the Skills Challenge and 3-Point Contest prior to the All-Star Game. The Slam Dunk Contest will then take place at halftime.
