Master P Wants to Coach New Orleans Pelicans, Zion Williamson

Following the firing of Pelicans coach Stan Van Gundy, New Orleans is on the prowl for someone to lead Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram and the rest of the franchise to the next level.

And there's a big name who wants the top job: Master P.

The rap legend — and former Hornets and Raptors player — believes he should be the Pelicans' next head coach.

"I think it's time," Master P told TMZ. "They gotta do something different, unique."

Hiring the "Make 'Em Say Uhh!" artist would certainly be unique, and he does have experience coaching in AAU.

"I played in the NBA, I done coached a lot of great players that are in the league. I done took my sons from being high-school athletes to maybe they'll be the next future big-time pro athletes."

The Pelicans, who finished this past season 31-41 and missed the playoffs, should be worried that Williamson and his family are reportedly disgruntled with the franchise. Could Master P fix that?

"We'll win and Zion will be happy," Master P said. "I feel like it's motivating the players and understanding them, that's the most important thing."

Of course, Master P has no chance of even interviewing with the Pelicans, but crazier things have happened.

"You look at Tim Tebow, they brought him to play as a tight end because they looking at times is changing."

Master P might not be the next Pelicans coach, but he's got a point.
