Grizzlies' Ja Morant Out 3 to 5 Weeks with Left Ankle Sprain

The Grizzlies' start to the season is off to a rocky start.

In Memphis' 116-111 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Monday, Ja Morant suffered a Grade 2 left ankle sprain that will sideline the NBA's reigning rookie of the year for three to five weeks.

Morant was wheelchaired off the court after attempting to block a shot by Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot late in the second quarter of the team's five-point win.

It's terrible timing for the Grizzlies and Morant, who appeared to be taking another leap to superstardom. The guard scored a career-high in the Grizzlies' season opener against the Spurs

The Grizz are also without Jaren Jackson Jr. who injured his knee last season.
