Strengths: Powell is short for a shooting guard at 6’4”, but he makes up for it with great length and athleticism. He is an aggressive and explosive guard who can get to the rim and jump out of a building. Powell is a solid ball-handler as well as an above average perimeter defender. He has a motor that is tough to slow down.
Weaknesses: With players like this, the issue always lies in the shooting. Powell is no different. He struggles mightily with perimeter shooting, and he also could certainly improve his passing ability. Powell is also very fast, but doesn’t have excellent agility to change direction and speed. It will be fun to watch an NBA team work to build on his raw athletic ability.
