While Green and Kuzma were key pieces to the Lakers' championship run, trading for DeRozan would represent a major upgrade and a potential third star for Los Angeles.
DeRozan, who grew up in Compton and attended USC, will make $27.7 million in the final year of his five-year, $193 million pact that he signed with the Toronto Raptors in 2016. Green and Kuzma also have expiring contracts, although Kuzma will be a restricted free agent at the end of the 2020-21 campaign.
This could be the start of a major rebuild in San Antonio. The Spurs are also reportedly interested in trading LaMarcus Aldridge to the Warriors for the No. 2 pick.
With the NBA Draft next week and free agency not far behind, the basketball hot stove is heating up and there'll surely be more big deals, like for Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul and Jrue Holiday.
