Mike Clevinger obviously isn’t the same pitcher he once was, but he’s getting the job done recently. He has gone 6+ innings in five of his last seven outings, sporting a 3.14 FIP and 26% K% across that span. He shouldn’t have too much trouble facing this Nationals team that has one of the more anemic offenses in all of baseball. Their 76 wRC+ against righties is 2nd-worst over the past 30 days and they are hyper aggressive at the plate averaging the fewest pitches per plate appearance. That should keep Clevinger in the game long enough to go six innings.
