Super Bowl Betting Preview

The Giants are red hot winners of 3 straight playoffs games, the last 2 on theroad, and they will be facing a favored Patriots team, who they upset in the SuperBowl a few years back and also beat them this season in New England. Thebig question most have been asking in this game is can the Giants and their Dstop Tom Brady and the Patriots offense? Yeah, big question, but the New Yorkoffense and New England defense have also played well in the playoffs so far.In the week 9 loss to the Giants Tom Brady had 2 INT and he also had 2 INT inthe AFC title game and if his offensive line can protect him and he avoids theturnover the Pats will be tough to beat.

New England narrowly beat the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC championshipgame 23-20 and New York needed OT to beat the San Francisco 49ers 20-17.

Both teams have been decent betting ones on the season with New England at10-8 ATS with an Over/Under record of 12-6 and New York at 11-7-1 ATS andthey have an Over/Under record of 9-9-1.

The Patriots gave up 282 passing yards with 2 TD in the win over the Ravensand they really have their work cut out for them trying to contain Eli manning andthe great young WR duo of Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz. The Pats have comeup with big INT all season and much like Brady Manning has to avoid gettingpicked off.

New England NT Vince Wilfork and the Pats’ pass rush played well against theRavens and will have to do so again against Manning and pressure him in thebackfield.

Besides the playoff game against Green Bay the Giants’ rushing offense haslooked like the one in the regular season, which ranked dead last in the league.Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw can really help Manning out by runningthe ball, but will be facing a Pats’ run defense that shut down Ray Rice in theAFC title game.

We all know Brady has a great set of Tight Ends in Rob Gronkowski and AaronHernandez as well as WR’s Wes Welker and Deion Branch, but having time tofind them is key in this game. The Giants’ pass rush is flying high and has playedgreat in the post-season and containing the likes of DE Osi Umenyiora, DE

Jason Pierre-Paul, and DE Justin Tuck is a tall task.

The Giants allowed Frank Gore and the 49ers to rush for 150 yards and if theystruggle again against the Pats’ RB duo of BenJarvus Green-Ellis and DannyWoodhead they may be in for an uphill battle.

Super Bowl Betting Trends

The Giants are 3-0 ATS in this post-season, 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games whenthey are the underdog, and in their last 5 games the total has gone Under 4times.

The Patriots are 1-1 ATS in this post-season, 1-7 ATS in their last 8 playoffgames, and they have an Over record of 7-1 in their last 8 games.

The line has gone down since they came out with more thinkingthe Giants have a legit chance to win this game. I do not think they do, as I thinkthe Patriots will get some revenge and win this game and cover the 2.5-pointspread.
