WNBA to hold draft at ESPN's headquarters
March 2, 2011NEW YORK (AP) - The WNBA will hold this year's draft at ESPN's headquarters in Bristol, Conn.
The past two drafts took place at NBA Studios in Secaucus, N.J. Before that they were held at the Final Four for three years.
This is the first time a professional sports league will hold its draft at ESPN. The WNBA said Wednesday the draft would be April 11.
Minnesota has the first pick and will also pick fourth because of a trade with Connecticut. Tulsa will be second, followed by Chicago.
ESPN has broadcast WNBA games for 15 years since the league's inaugural season and has aired the draft since 2001.
